Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Carefully read the submission guidelines, as follows:

  1. General Requirements

The minimum standard requirements of the Journal of Contemporary English Studies must be Written in English.

The length of the submitted paper must be at least eight pages and no more than 20 pages. Editors will evaluate if an article needs more than 20 pages.

          Use of a tool such as Zotero, Mendeley, or EndNote for reference management and formatting, and choose APA Style

          Make sure that your paper is prepared using the JCES paper template

  1. Structure of The Manuscript

The manuscript must be qualified, suggestive and follow the structure

          Title. The title of the paper should describe research aims, method or model, and objective, without Acronym or abbreviation

          Abstract. The Abstract has a maximum of 250 words, No citation, and states in the abstract a primary goal, research design, methodology, main outcomes and results, and the conclusions.

A minimum of three keywords for the paper are required.

          Section structure. Authors are suggested to present their articles in the following section structure: Introduction, Method, Results, Discussion, and Conclusion

References. Expect a minimum of 10 references. In APA style, adhere to the Initiative for Open Citations (I4OC).  JCES Publications and Printers is Participating in Initiative for Open Citations (I4OC)

Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication, with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY).
